Fix My Issue (“we”, “us”, “our”) is the data controller responsible for your personal data.

2. What data we collect
When you use this service we collect the following information from you:
- Your name and property address
- Your email address
- Details about your tenancy and complaint (as entered in the form)
- Payment information — processed by Stripe; we do not store card details
- Marketing consent preference
3. How we use your data
We use your data to:
- Assemble and deliver your complaint letter (contract performance)
- Send you a copy of your letter by email (contract performance)
- Send you marketing communications about new services, if you have opted in (legitimate interest / consent)
- Comply with our legal obligations
4. How long we keep your data
Form answers and your letter are stored temporarily in our session store with a 24-hour expiry. After that, they are automatically deleted.
If you opted in to marketing communications, your email address is retained until you unsubscribe.
If you subscribe to notifications about new services, we store your email address. You can unsubscribe at any time by emailing info@fixmyissue.co.uk.
Payment records are retained by Stripe in accordance with their privacy policy and applicable financial regulations.
5. Who we share your data with
We share limited data with the following processors in order to operate the service:
- Stripe — payment processing. See Stripe’s privacy policy.
- Vercel — hosting and infrastructure.
- Resend — transactional email delivery.
We do not sell your data to third parties.
6. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data (“right to be forgotten”)
- Object to or restrict processing
- Lodge a complaint with the ICO (ico.org.uk)

7. Cookies and analytics
We use a single, strictly necessary session cookie (fmi_session) to link your completed form to your payment and letter. This cookie is httpOnly, secure, and expires after 24 hours. No advertising or tracking cookies are used.
We use Plausible Analytics to understand how the site is used. Plausible is a privacy-focused analytics tool that does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and is fully compliant with GDPR. No consent is required.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
